The 16th Congress of the Asian-Oceanian Union for Nuclear Medicine and Biology (AOCNMB2024) was held in Indonesia from September 5 to September 7. The conference brings together industry, academia, scientists and other professionals in the region to exchange professional results, share cutting-edge insights and shape the future of nuclear medicine in Asia and Oceania. The conference, held in conjunction with the Indonesian Nuclear Medicine Congress, is in line with the Indonesian government's health transformation plan that by 2027, general hospitals in all provinces of Indonesia will be equipped with nuclear medicine and molecular imaging equipment and carry out nuclear medicine diagnosis and treatment activities to improve the quality of medical services in cancer treatment in the country.
HTA was invited to attend the conference. During the exhibition, HTA and Indonesian and Malaysian cooperation units carried out further negotiations on the projects that have been landed or are being promoted in the early stage, and discussed the follow-up work plan; Communicate with radiopharma companies from Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Nepal and other countries and doctors from nuclear medicine departments in local hospitals to understand the local nuclear medicine market situation, current problems encountered and appeals to China, and lay an important foundation for subsequent market development activities; At the same time, HTA  held formal talks with relevant cooperation units to discuss cooperation matters in the development of key markets in Southeast Asia, and held a cooperation signing ceremony after the meeting. In addition, Zhang Xuefeng, deputy general manager of HTA, was invited to make a theme report on the automated production of radiopharmaceutical during the conference.
Before going to Indonesia, Li Guoxiang, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and deputy general manager of HTA, also led a delegation to visit Malaysia and Thailand to visit key overseas customers, conduct in-depth exchanges on the spot, discuss and solve problems, and promote the development of the project. The delegation also met with the Office of Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy of Thailand (OAP) and the Institute of Nuclear Technology of Thailand (TINT) to learn about local radiopharmaceutical regulatory policies, market size, local production capacity and future development plans.
HTA's visit was fruitful, and it also received Asian countries' expectations for China to play a greater influence on nuclear medicine in the region. HTA will continue to strengthen its own capacity building, firmly take the road of international business, and make contributions to maintaining the life and health of more people around the world.
