On March 28, the China Atomic Energy Authority held the first quarterly forum in Beijing. The forum focused on "Nuclear science and Technology Leading the future", and conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the development of nuclear science and technology, international cooperation in nuclear science and technology, and the status and trend of nuclear energy development. The forum released ten major events in the nuclear field in 2021, and awarded licenses to five National Atomic Energy Agency technology research and development centers. Among them, CNNC was successfully selected for a number of major events, and China Institute of Atomic Energy Science and HTA Co., Ltd. was awarded the "China Atomic Energy Authority Research and Development Center".

Dong Baotong pointed out that under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China, China's nuclear industry has grown from scratch, from small to large, and has achieved a series of important scientific and technological achievements, and has walked out of a successful road of self-reliance. Facing the new situation, new tasks and new requirements, thoroughly implementing the new development concept and actively promoting the high-quality development of China's nuclear energy are the inherent requirements for the healthy and sustainable development of the nuclear industry.
Dong Baotong said that regularly holding quarterly forums in the nuclear field around specific themes or hot topics is not only a specific measure to promote the modernization of the government's governance system and governance capacity, but also a platform for the government to set up a platform for experts to give advice and discuss the development plan of the industry, which will effectively promote the better and faster development of China's nuclear industry.
Deng Ge, Secretary-General of the China Atomic Energy Authority, delivered a keynote report on the development of nuclear science and technology; Luo Qi, Chief engineer of China National Nuclear Corporation and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Ye Qizhen, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Committee of China National Nuclear Corporation and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; and Yang Dazhu, former Deputy Director general of the IAEA, delivered reports on the development strategy of nuclear science and technology, the current situation and development trend of nuclear energy, and the opportunities for international cooperation in nuclear science and technology.
The forum was hosted by the China Atomic Energy Authority and hosted by the National Nuclear Security Technology Center and the News and Publicity Center of the China Atomic Energy Authority.
